Public Transport

Probably the ticket most useful to you is the weekly ticket valid for the central tariff zone 101 which costs EUR 10.60 and which is available at many places, in particular from the “mobility center” located at Jakominiplatz junction which you are sure to pass through at some point.

From the Airport to Downtown

There are buses from the airport (Flughafen) to the city center (Jakominiplatz) as well as trains to the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof). Screens at the airport show the next departure times. The airport is situated within the central tariff zone 101, i.e., the ticket from the airport to Downtown costs 1.90 EUR and is valid for all public transport within the central tariff zone for one hour. You can also buy a weekly ticket (as described above).

You can also use the route planner of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). Note that it is configured in such a way that you end up either on the railway station or on Griesplatz. Busses to Griesplatz almost always continue to Jakominiplatz, where you have more connections to other busses or trams.
