One PhD position in Probabilistic Combinatorics is available

We are seeking outstanding PhD candidates with interest and experience in probabilistic combinatorics.

A successful candidate will pursue their PhD degree within Project 15 'Random graphs on a surface' of the Doctoral Program 'Discrete Mathematics', as a member of the Combinatorics Group at the Graz University of Technology under the supervision of Univ.-Prof. Mihyun Kang. Research topics include random graphs, random graphs on surfaces, random hypergraphs, random simplicial complexes, and random subgraphs.

The position is up to 3 years, and the preferred starting date is 1 March 2022.

The salary is according to the collective agreement ("Kollektivvertrag") and the standard personnel costs and salaries for FWF projects. The current gross salary per month is 2,237.60 Euros (14 times a year). There is additional funding for participating in conferences.

Qualifications and condition of employment

  • Strong track record of mathematical studies
  • Master's degree in mathematics or theoretical computer science
