Travel information
From Vienna Airport to Wien Südbahnhof train station
- By bus: Busses from Vienna International Airport to Südbahnhof train station operate between 5:30 am and 00:10 am, every 20-30 minutes, and a single ticket for one way costs Euro 6. (There are also busses to other destinations in Vienna.)
- By taxi:Taxis from Vienna airport to Wien Südbahnhof train station cost around Euro 25-30 (and there might be an extra charge for luggage). Duration of trip: 20 Min (longer during rush hours).
From Vienna (Wien Südbahnhof train station) to Graz

- By train: Duration of trip about 2h40min. Price of ticket Wien-Graz (one way) Euro 31,40. Departures: You have a connection from Wien Südbahnhof to Graz every hour at 4 Minutes before the full hour from 5:54am through 8:56pm (5:56, 6:56, 7:56, ..., 19:56, 20:56). Trains at 4 Minutes before the even hour (5:56, 7:56, 9:56, ..., 19:56) as well as the train at 20:56 are direct. (Destination of direct trains is shown as Graz, with the exception of 7:56 to Ljubljana and 15:56 to Zagreb). Trains at 4 Minutes before the odd hour (6:56, 8:56, ..., 18:56) require changing trains at Bruck an der Mur (about 2hours into the trip): in Vienna, get on the train to Villach (or, at 6:56 to Silian, at 8:56 to Venezia) and change in Bruck/Mur to the train to Graz. (At Bruck, you will probably arrive at track 1 and then have to go through the underpass to track 3, where the train to Graz leaves 2 Min after the full hour.) As the train climbs Semmering mountain, you will have a beautiful view on the left side (going from Vienna to Graz), between Payerbach and Semmering stations (between approx. 45min and 1h15min after departure from Vienna).

From Graz Thalerhof Airport to Graz
- Cost:(by public transportation - train or bus): Euro 1.80 (One zone in Graz's public transportation system. The ticket that you buy for the train or bus at the airport is valid for the whole ride from the airport to any destination in Graz, using any combination of trams, busses, etc.)
- By bus: Bus line 630 stops right in the front of the main exit of the airport and goes to Jakominiplatz. Duration of trip:about 40 Min.
- By train:The train station is about 300m outside the airport, and is visible from the airport's main exit. Duration of trip: 9 Min. There are trains to Graz Hauptbahnhof every hour.
- By taxi: A taxi from Graz Thalerhof airport to the center of Graz (or near the Technical University, where the conference will take place) should cost about Euro 20, no extra charge for luggage.
How to get from Graz railway station to the hotels and the mathematical institute
From Graz to Vienna (Wien Südbahnhof train station)

- By train: Duration of trip about 2h40min. Price of ticket Wien-Graz (one way) Euro 31,40. Departures: You have a connection from Graz to Wien Südbahnhof every hour from 5:40am through 9:38pm (5:40, 6:37, 6:42, 7:26, 8:26, 9:26, 10:26, 11:26, 12:26, 13:26, 14:26,..., 21:38). Take tram number 6 in front of the train sation (for Hotel Mariahilf, tram number 3 is also OK).
For Hotel Mariahilf, get off at "Südtirolerplatz", where you can see the Kunsthaus (blue bubble). The hotel is right behind Kunsthaus.
For Pension Johannes as well as for the Mathematical Institute and the Student house Hafnerriegel, get off at "Neue Technik". For Johannes, walk accross the traffic light in the direction of the tram (stay on the same side). Pension Johannes is the 2nd or 3rd house. For Hafnerriegel, go past Johannes until you can turn right in a narrow alley (walking only !). Continue until you reach Hafnerriegel. For the Mathematical Institute: when you get off the tram, cross the traffic light to the left and walk uphill in Steyrergasse (staying on the left street side in your direction) until you reach the building (number 30, grey with some red and blue).
For Hotel Mercure, get off from tram number 6 at the stop "St. Peter Friedhof", walk past the cemetery entrance to the left in Petersgasse until the next crossing, then turn right. After a few steps you will see the Hotel.
For Hotel Teuschler, you can change to tram line number 1 at Hauptplatz and continue in the same direction until "Schönbrunngasse". Cross Hilmteichstrasse (pedestrian crossing) to the left, walk through Schönbrunngasse until you reach Mariatroster Strasse, and turn right. The hotel is there.
